Sally Mills, charity engagement Manager at Chelsea Foundation, was named as winner of this year’s Peter Osgood Award.
The Peter Osgood Award was set up in 2016 to honour a Chelsea staff member who has shown the commitment, dedication and spirit that the legendary Blues striker was famous for.
Peter’s son, Darren Osgood, and Mauricio Pochettino, presented Sally with the award as recognition for her work providing life-changing experiences for Chelsea’s community.
Sally’s work includes Chelsea Foundation’s community days, where special guests are invited into the training ground, matchday wishes where individuals and their families are treated to an exclusive matchday experience, or player visits into local hospitals.
Sally also organises activities for Chelsea’s ex-players, supporting the welfare of those who made the club what it is today through the Chelsea Players’ Trust.
Upon receiving the award, Sally said: ‘I am truly honoured to have been recognised for my work and presented with the Peter Osgood Award. I work closely with many of our ex-players through the Chelsea Players’ Trust, so to have been awarded something that is in memory of Peter is even more special.
‘The team kept it all as a surprise from me, so I was shocked when Darren and Mauricio presented me as the winner. Chelsea Foundation and myself are committed to creating life-changing experiences for our community, and to have been instrumental in organising those unforgettable memories for those in need is something I am extremely proud of.’
