Pedro Neto has never been one to rest on his laurels, with hard work underpinning his footballing attitude.
Neto has enjoyed adjusting to his new home, making 26 appearances across all competitions since moving to Stamford Bridge in the summer.
The 24-year-old has provided some stand-out moments in a Blue shirt, finding the back of the net across multiple competitions, but most memorably in the Premier League when his powerful strike helped us secure a point against Arsenal.
Despite flashes of brilliance in those performances, the Portuguese international is determined to reach even greater heights as he recognises there is more to come. As the season progresses, the winger remains committed to pushing himself further, setting higher standards, and striving for improvement.
‘I want to do better, to be honest,’ Neto reflected. ‘I know I can do much better. I’ve had good moments during the season, but I know I can do much better. I’m working on it. The goal is to do my best, improve and reach my level. That is my goal. I have to finish in the best way.’
This drive for excellence has been a defining characteristic of Neto’s footballing story, having made his journey from his native Portugal - where he climbed the ranks at Braga - before switching to Wolves and then challenging himself with a move to the Bridge.
Pedro says Enzo Maresca is playing a key part in his current chapter, with the winger acknowledging he has found a coach whose philosophy aligns perfectly with his own work ethic.
‘It’s really good to have a manager that has the mentality that he has,’ Neto added. ‘He wants us to work hard every day if we want to play.
‘It’s the mentality that every player has to have so we arrive at the top. We need to work hard together so we can reach our top level. It’s about consistency and hard work.’
