Former Chelsea midfielder Ramires has been given a Marvel makeover as an inaugural member of the EA SPORTS FC 24 Heroes ahead of the game’s release on 29 September.

EA SPORTS FC 24 will be the start of a new era for the game and is available to pre-order now ahead of the launch on 29 September, with current Blues Enzo Fernandez and Sam Kerr featuring on the Ultimate Edition cover, alongside Chelsea legend Didier Drogba.

Now, a list of 19 cult favourites from across the football world have been revealed as EA SPORTS FC 24 Heroes with Chelsea represented again, this time Champions League-winning midfielder Ramires taking centre stage as he joins the ranks as an Ultimate Team Hero.

All 19 of the players, including Ramires, have been reimagined by Marvel as comic book Heroes and Heroines to join the already star-studded Ultimate Team cast in EA SPORTS FC 24.

The Brazilian is certainly worthy of that status, the tireless box-to-box midfielder having scored 34 goals in 251 appearances for the Blues and achieved a clean sweep of major domestic honours by lifting the Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup trophies during his time at Stamford Bridge, in addition to success on the European stage in the Champions League and Europa League.

It was that 2011/12 campaign which ended in Champions League glory that stands out as arguably Ramires’ finest. Even if he missed the final of that competition due to suspension, there was no doubting his role in our success thanks to his brilliant and crucial chipped goal away at Barcelona in the semi-final. He received his second consecutive Chelsea Goal of the Season award for that stunning strike.

Although it was his work rate and ability to snuff out danger before launching forward on the counter-attack for which Ramires is best remembered, his eye for the spectacular was undeniable. In addition to those award-winning efforts against Barcelona and Manchester City, his opening goal in the 2012 FA Cup final win over Liverpool at Wembley was almost as memorable.
