Poppy sellers will be present around Stamford Bridge today with contactless payment available. With the money raised, the Royal British Legion supports serving members of the Armed Forces, veterans and their families.

Fans arriving for the match versus Man City can look and listen out for the British Imperial Military Band which will be playing outside the stadium at the Britannia Gate.

Prior to kick-off, there will be a moment of silence honouring those who lost their lives in conflict across the world, with the Last Post played by a trumpeter of the Central Band of the Royal Air Force. There will also be a silence at Chelsea Women’s match at Everton.

The men’s team will be led on to the pitch by the distinctive red uniforms of Chelsea Pensioners from the nearby Royal Hospital, with ‘CHELSEA REMEMBERS’ spelt out on the pitch while a poppy centre-circle flag is waved, the letters and the flag held by members of the UK Armed Forces Chelsea Official Supporters Club.

The Chelsea Pensioners will lay poppy wreaths and in the stands, our supporters will take part in displays.

In his page for the matchday programme, our men’s captain Reece James says: 'Today's game falls on Remembrance Sunday and it will be an honour to be led onto the pitch by the Chelsea Pensioners, and to stand with them for the Last Post as we honour all those who have lost their lives in conflict. We will remember them.'

Chelsea Women captain Millie Bright added: ‘It’s always an honour when wearing the poppy on our shirts. Today we will pay our respects to those who fought at war with a minute of silence. They are always in our thoughts.’

The matchday programme also has Mauricio Pochettino speaking about Remembrance and there is a long read reflecting on the life of George Lake, the only serving Chelsea player to be killed in the First World War, and his link to former Man City star Paul Lake. Plus there is an interview with Chelsea legend Frank Blunstone on his days in the army while also a player at Stamford Bridge.

After the game, the Chelsea Foundation will auction all of the poppy-adorned shirts worn during our men’s and women’s Remembrance fixtures this month, including those from today's matches and the preceding big wins at Tottenham for Pochettino’s side and Aston Villa for Emma Hayes’s team.

Each shirt will be signed by the respective player and will be auctioned on MatchWornShirt.com/poppy with the proceeds donated to the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal.
