Antonio Rudiger's stunning long-range strike against Brentford has been chosen by Chelsea supporters as the club's best goal in April.

It will come as no surprise that the defender's brilliant effort has been voted as our Goal of the Month, after he opened the scoring at Stamford Bridge early in the second half against the Bees.

Rudiger received the ball in space from N'Golo Kante a long way out. He had threatend with shots from range on a number of occasions this season, but this time it came off. From 40 yards his powerful effort arrowed towards goal, moving in the air on its way past Brentford goalkeeper David Raya and off the inside of the left-hand post before nestling in the back of the net.

You have to go back over 15 years to October 2006 to find a Premier League goal scored by a Chelsea player from further out than Rudiger's and that effort against Brentford sits third on the list of the Blues' longest-range goals in the Premier League since Opta started recording such data.

The German's strike proved to be the overwhelming favourite among the thousands of Blues supporters taking part in the April Goal of the Month poll, receiving 55 per cent of all the votes cast.

In a distant second place with 15 per cent of the vote was Mason Mount's cool opening goal at the Bernabeu in our Champions League quarter-final second leg against Real Madrid, followed by Christian Pulisic's dramatic late winner over West Ham United at the Bridge with eight per cent.
