Johanna Rytting Kaneryd has been nominated for both the Women’s Super League Player of the Month and Goal of the Month awards for September.
The Swedish winger opened her account for the season when she netted the match-winning goal in our 1-0 victory over Aston Villa at Kingsmeadow on the opening day of the campaign, which has been nominated for the monthly prize.
In the 36th minute, the 27-year-old produced a neat piece of skill to chop the ball back onto her left foot and then expertly fire a shot toward goal from 20 yards which found the corner.
Rytting Kaneryd turned provider in our second match of the season, which saw the Blues travel to league newcomers Crystal Palace. Carrying the ball up the wing with pace, she played an intelligent pass into the box to find Aggie Beever-Jones, who scored our first of the eventual 7-0 win.
The Chelsea winger is nominated alongside Grace Clinton (Manchester United), Beth England (Tottenham Hotspur), Frida Manuum (Arsenal), Kiko Seike (Brighton & Hove Albion), and Millie Turner (Manchester United) for the Player of the Month award.
Meanwhile, in the running for the Goal of the Month award, she faces competition from against Kiko Sieke (Brighton & Hove Albion), Leah Galton (Manchester United), Jess Park (Manchester City), Olga Ahtinen (Tottenham Hotspur), Olivia Smith (Liverpool) and Adriana Leon (Aston Villa).
You can vote for Rytting Kaneryd for Player of the Month here and for Goal of the Month here! Voting closes at 12pm on Monday 7 October.
