Salzburg vs Chelsea preview
Chelsea remain unbeaten in all competitions under Graham Potter, despite being denied victory by an injury-time equaliser as we drew 1-1 with Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. That was also the scoreline in our first match against Salzburg at the Bridge - Potter's first as Chelsea head coach - but if we can secure a victory this time around in Austria it will guarantee the Blues a spot in the Champions League knockout stages with a game to spare, as we currently top the Group E table.
Reece James has been ruled out for several weeks after a knee injury sustained during our 2-0 Champions League victory at AC Milan, while N'Golo Kante is expected to be out for four months following surgery on his hamstring. Wesley Fofana is the other ongoing absentee.
Salzburg will be without Ousmane Diakite and Nicolas Capaldo due to long-term injury, and there are doubts over the availability of captain Andreas Ulmer, midfielder Luka Sucic and forwards Dijon Kameri, Fernando and Sekou Koita, who all missed the weekend's draw with Sturm Graz.
