Sam Kerr has been shortlisted for the BBC Women’s Footballer of the Year 2021 and you can vote now.
The Matildas captain is one of five contenders up for the award, nominated by a panel of experts including coaches and journalists.
The 2020/21 season was a rewarding one for the 28-year-old after scooping the Golden Boot in the Women’s Super League with 21 goals in 22 matches, helping the Blues to top the league and win the Continental League Cup and Community Shield, as well as reaching the final of the Women’s Champions League for the first time in the club's history.
Fans have also enjoyed Kerr’s partnership with Fran Kirby on the pitch. The dynamic duo dubbed ‘Kerrby’ came together last season to form one of the greatest partnerships within women’s football with their show-stopping link-up play, leading to 37 goals and 18 assists between them.
Kerr was also recently listed on the shortlist for the Ballon d’Or for the third time in her career.
