Sandy Baltimore revealed the Chelsea players had no doubts they could turn around the 2-0 deficit against Manchester City, even before a ball had been kicked.

The France international only joined the club in the summer, but has quickly adapted to life at Chelsea, becoming an integral part of Sonia Bompastor's starting XI.

Her defensive prowess and ability to get up and down the left wing make her a superb full-back, and last night she took the opportunity to make her mark in what was a key moment of the game - opening the scoring to begin the comeback against Man City.

She said: 'I'm very happy, very pleased with the result. It wasn't an easy game.

'We knew we were going to make the comeback and now we've done it, we're even happier.'

Baltimore is no stranger to scoring goals, having found the back of the net on four occasions in Women's Super League action already this season. Last night was her first in the Champions League, though, and it couldn't have come at a better moment.

'I saw Lucy shoot and then it bounced off the post,' she described. 'I just followed the ball and didn't even hesitate. I hit the ball and it went in. I was so happy.

'I think it was our mentality that made the difference, because we were already 2-0 down in the first leg and we knew we had to win that match to go through to the semi-finals, and that's what we did tonight.

'We were completely united as a team, with nothing but positivity.'

After showing such determination to complete the huge turnaround against Man City, thoughts naturally turned to whether we could go on to win the competition, even with Barcelona - who have won the competition the last two seasons - standing in the way at the semi-final stage. Baltimore thinks they can.

'Yes we can do it, and whatever happens, we're going to do everything we can,' she said. 'Winning this competition is the objective.

'We know that there are some tough opponents but we're going to give it everything we've got, that's our aim.'
