Soccer Aid for UNICEF returns to Stamford Bridge this weekend – and there will be several familiar faces on show for Chelsea supporters. Here's how you can follow all the action from the world’s largest celebrity football match...
Chelsea is proud to be hosting the event which will raise money for UNICEF’s vital work, in the process helping millions of children around the world have happy, healthy, play-filled childhoods.
The event, a regular staple of the summer football calendar since the first edition in 2006, has raised over £90million in aid for UNICEF UK to date.
The exhibition match pitches former professional footballers both alongside and against celebrities.
Who competes in Soccer Aid?
Soccer Aid 2024 sees an England team composed of legends and celebrities take on the Soccer Aid World XI, who in previous years have competed as the Rest of the World.
The match takes place over 90 minutes with a penalty shootout held if the score is level to decide the winner. Since 2019, the game has been mixed-sex, with both men and women competing.
Of the previous 12 editions, England have won five while the World XI/ROW team have won seven. Stamford Bridge has hosted the event once before - in 2019 - when the World XI won on penalties after a 2-2 draw.
Where to watch?
Soccer Aid is broadcast in the UK on ITV1, STV and ITVX on Sunday 9 June at 6pm. There will be around 90 minutes of build-up before the main event starts.
In addition, Soccer Aid: The Warm Up will be shown at 3pm on ITV1 the same day.
How to buy tickets?
General admission tickets are now sold out. However, you can still secure a place to watch Sunday’s game with Club Chelsea.
Packages begin from £80 inc VAT. Find out more details here.
Who are the managers?
Two former Chelsea head coaches will be in the dugouts on Sunday, with Mauricio Pochettino and Frank Lampard involved in the match.
Lampard will join Harry Redknapp and Robbie Williams in leading the England team while Pochettino will oversee the World XI.
Which Chelsea legends are involved?
Following his departure from Chelsea in 2019, Eden Hazard will make a return to the Stamford Bridge turf in Soccer Aid 2024.
Hazard did feature for Real Madrid against Chelsea in a 2021 Champions League tie, but this will be his first return in front of supporters since leaving the club.
Arriving in 2012, the Belgian made 352 appearances and scored 110 goals during a glittering spell in west London, winning two Premier League titles, two Europa Leagues, one FA Cup and one League Cup.
The 33-year-old, who announced his retirement from football after departing Real Madrid last summer, will be part of the World XI squad.
Hazard will be joined by three other Chelsea Premier League winners: goalkeeper Petr Cech and midfielders Michael Essien and John Obi Mikel. It will ensure a strong-looking side.
In the England squad, Blues icon Lampard will also be able to call upon Chelsea legends Joe Cole, Gary Cahill and Karen Carney.
