Blues head coach Sonia Bompastor has confirmed Lucy Bronze and Sandy Baltimore will not feature in tomorrow's Women's League Cup semi-final clash against West Ham United, while also providing an update on Mia Fishel.
The Blues welcome the Hammers to Kingsmeadow tomorrow evening in the last four of the League Cup. Bompastor's side reached this stage of the competition by beating Championship side Durham in the previous round.
If Chelsea are to reach a first domestic cup final of the season, they will have to do so without defender Bronze and winger Baltimore, with both players also missing for last weekend's Women's Super League win at Aston Villa.
'There are no new injuries from the game on Sunday,' Bompastor shared in her press conference at Cobham. 'Sandy Baltimore and Lucy Bronze won't be available for the game tomorrow.
'We will see if they can be available for the game this weekend (against Everton in the FA Cup), but they won't be in the squad for tomorrow.'
Our head coach also provided an update on forward Fishel who is continuing her rehab from a long-term anterior cruciate ligament injury.
Bompastor said: 'Mia is doing well. She's not practicing fully with us yet, but she's been with us as part of training sessions. She's also practicing with our under-18s team.
'She is in a really good place mentally and physically she is doing well. So, it's really positive news for her, even if it is difficult for me to give you a precise date for her return.'
