Head coach Sonia Bompastor has confirmed there are no fresh injury concerns for the Blues ahead of our trip to Crystal Place in the Women’s Super League.

Speaking to the media prior to our visit to Selhurst Park, Bompastor outlined there are no additional fitness concerns following our first match of the campaign against Aston Villa.

Blues forward Lauren James started on the bench and played the final five minutes against Vila at Kingsmeadow having picked up a knock in the week, but Bompastor confirmed our No.10 has been involved in our preparations to face the Eagles.

‘From last week, we did not have any injuries,’ Bompastor said. ‘The squad could be the same as last week.

‘Lauren was able to practice all week. She’s in the squad and you will see tomorrow if she is starting or not.’

Bompastor also confirmed young Spanish midfielder Julia Bartel – who returned to the Blues following her appearance at the Under-20 World Cup in Colombia, where she reached the quarter-finals – will not feature this weekend.

‘We are happy to have Julia back,’ our head coach added. ‘She had a great competition at the World Cup even if her team didn’t go through until the end.

‘She won’t be in the squad for the game tomorrow but it’s good to have her in the group and with the team. We’ll see later how it goes for her personally.’
