In her pre-match press conference, Blues head coach Sonia Bompastor delivered an update on the players who will be available to face Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday.

Following the international break where a number of our players featured for their respective countries, we return to Women's Super League action on Sunday evening looking to extend our run in the league having won all four of our games thus far.

Speaking to the media at Cobham ahead of our encounter with the Toffees, Bompastor confirmed forward Catarina Macario will not feature. Nor will Lauren James who is currently sidelined with a calf injury.

Meanwhile, midfielder Wieke Kaptein will continue to be assessed ahead of our trip to Merseyside after she withdrew from the Netherlands squad during the international window with a toe injury.

'Most of the squad is fit,' Bompastor said. 'I only have Catarina Macrio who is still not available. It was too short for her to make her comeback this weekend, even if she worked really hard with us during the international break.

'As you already know, LJ is not available for the game on Sunday.

'We have Wieke Kaptein who had a small issue with her toe, but she is fine. We did an x-ray and her bone is not broken. We are going day by day. We will assess her tomorrow again and we'll take a decision with her on the squad.'

When asked further about James' injury, Bompastor added: 'It's difficult for me to give you a good timeline on Lauren. We are going steps by steps and I previously said [she won't return] maybe not before the next international break.'
