Sonia Bompastor has hailed what was a real team performance after her Chelsea side claimed an emphatic 7-0 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Six different goal scorers - Aggie Beever-Jones, Lucy Bronze, Lauren James, Guro Reiten (2), Nathalie Bjorn, and Catarina Macario - secured our second win of the Women's Super League season.

Our opening goal came through Beever-Jones in the 38th minute, with the six others coming in the second half, including a 20-minute flurry in the closing stages when the Blues found the net four times.

The goals came from well-worked moves and individual moments of brilliance, and our head coach is delighted with the versatile finishing her squad displayed.

'It's always good to score many goals,' Bompastor said. 'It's always good to have different scorers. It's good for the team and brings confidence for some individuals.

'When you're able to score goals with different players, it makes it unpredictable for the opposition and this is also a good point for us.

'Tonight, we were able to score great goals. The one from Lucy was a great shot, but the others were more from the whole team, like the fourth from Guro.

'We were really patient, being able to move the ball really quickly, be sharp with one and two touches, being close to each other and finishing that action - that is also something I'm really proud of.'

And with the second-half performance being a much improved display, Bompastor detailed what she felt the differences were after the interval.

'We made some tactical adjustments,' she added. 'Going on the second half, maybe in terms of fitness for Crystal Palace it was harder to be consistent in the game. They left more space in their block and on the wide areas.

'The good point from us is we were able to exploit them. This is a good thing because as a team, I always tell my players that it's really important to scan the spaces on the block and to be able to play where we have to play.'

Despite the emphatic win, Bompastor insists there is still more to come from her Blues side, citing a first-half display where chances plenty of chances were created but only one was scored.

'You can always ask for more,' our head coach added. 'There is always room for improvements, especially from the first half.

'I think we created some opportunities and good chances, but we only scored one. I think we should probably have scored two or three. When you are able to be clinical, it kills the game and this is the mentality we want to have.

'I know my players were trying so hard, but it can be something mental and we need to make sure we help them with having the confidence.

'Sometimes when you really want to score, you get nervous and it's trying to find the good balance between giving them some confidence and having them be able to relax so they can score.

'Tonight on the defensive part, we have some work to do and progress to make. That's something I'm aware of.'
