Sonia Bompastor could win back-to-back Women’s Super League Manager of the Month awards after being nominated for October’s prize.
The Blues head coach won the award for September after guiding her side to a flawless start in terms of results, with a 1-0 home win over Aston Villa and an emphatic 7-0 rout against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
That impressive run has continued throughout October with Bompastor’s Blues winning two London derbies.
A 2-1 win over Arsenal at the Emirates and a 5-2 defeat of Tottenham Hotspur at Kingsmeadow last weekend means Chelsea are the only team to have won all their league games thus far. Our winning run in the WSL now stands at seven matches, with three of those extending back to last season.
Fifteen goals have been scored by Bompastor's side in our four games during this league campaign and only three have been conceded.
We currently sit in second place in the WSL with a maximum of 12 points from four games, one point behind Manchester City who have played one game more.
Sonia has been nominated for this month’s award alongside her Manchester City counterpart Gareth Taylor and Brighton & Hove Albion’s Dario Vidosic.
Voting is now open and will close at 12pm on Monday October 28. You can cast your vote for Sonia here!
Congratulations, Sonia!
