Following our emphatic 5-0 win over Everton, Sonia Bompastor described how she feels to have led the Blues to a five-game winning start in the Women's Super League this season.

At Goodison Park, five goals from five different players - Aggie Beever-Jones, Erin Cuthbert, Guro Reiten, Wieke Kaptein and Ashley Lawrence, saw Bompastor's side maintain their winning start to the league campaign.

The Blues sit second in the WSL table with 15 points, one point and one place behind current leaders Manchester City who have played one game more.

A dominant display in Merseyside left Bompastor delighted with both the performance and the result, also highlighting how pleased she was to be able to share the minutes around between those who started and those who came on as substitutes.

'A great result and a good performance - especially in the first half,' Bompastor said in her post-match press conference with the media. 'We were able tonight to rotate the squad a little bit.

'It was an opportunity for me to show some trust to all of my squad. Some players had opportunities to show themselves and they did well. A lot of positives to take from this game.'

Bompastor added: 'We want to stay consistent in the game and the best respect you can show to the opposing team is to play to a high level all through the game.

'When you're winning 3-0, it's also an opportunity for the manager to rotate a little bit more in the squad. Giving the opportunity for some players to come in. Maybe, in the second half, we were more transitional and I wanted us to be able to keep more of the ball, but we were able to score two more goals and I think as a team we did really well.'

Since joining Chelsea in the summer, Bompastor has led her side to seven wins from seven across all competitions - with five of those coming in the WSL. It has been a perfect start in terms of results and has left the head coach very content with her start to life in London.

'I'm enjoying it so much,' she added. 'I've already said that for me I am so passionate about football. Football has been my life forever.

'I started to play football when I was six, so having the opportunity to be the Chelsea manager and winning games - that's the dream you want to have. I'm in a good place. I think we're doing a good job with the squad and I'm really enjoying working with these players.'

Following the win against the Toffees, Bompastor was also asked by journalists about the contributions of two of tonight's goal scorers: Beever-Jones and Kaptein.

'Wieke Kaptein is a really good player,' our head coach said. 'I don't see her age, it is more about her performing with the team and at the moment she's doing really well.

'Even if she's young, she's really confident with the ball and she can make a good impact for the team. She's able to possess the ball under pressure, able to make the team play and is able to score. From a young player, that's really high expectations but she's performing in a big club with a lot of good players around her.'

On Beever-Jones, Bompastor added: 'She's a really talented player, a lot of quality. Sometimes she wants to start every single game which is good because I really like when players are competitive.

'So, sometimes she needs to be patient, but she has a lot of quality. I think she needs to work on trusting herself because we talk to each other and sometimes I am the one who gives her the trust. She has a lot of quality and needs to trust herself and show all the qualities that she did tonight.'
