Sonia Bompastor says spirits are high amongst the Blues squad ahead of tomorrow night's UEFA Champions League match against Celtic, while also discussing the players who didn't travel, our opposition and Erin Cuthbert's pride in playing in Scotland.

Soon after arriving in Glasgow, Blues head coach Bompastor spoke to the media ahead of tomorrow night's encounter against the reigning Scottish champions at Celtic Park.

The match comes amid an impressive start to the season for Chelsea; we have won our eight games in all competitions thus far, including our opening two European matches against Real Madrid at Stamford Bridge and FC Twente in the Netherlands.

Talking to the media, Bompastor explained how her players are feeling about the encounter against Celtic, while confirming four members of the squad did not travel to manage minutes.

'The squad is in a good place,' Bompastor said. 'At the moment, we have a good dynamic, good results and we are full of confidence.

'This week is a special week because we have three games, so as a manager it's also important for me to manage some players as individuals. I have some players who didn't travel to the game: Kadeisha Buchanan, Millie Bright, Sjoeke Nusken and Mayra Ramirez.

'Chelsea has a really good squad with a lot of quality and tomorrow we'll have a good team starting the game and being competitive because we have a lot of ambitions and want to finish in first place in this group.'

Tomorrow's opponents are yet to score or pick up points during their maiden European campaign, but Bompastor is ready to take on a side she says includes a number of quality players.

'We have watched some of their games from the Champions League and the league,' Bompastor added. 'Celtic is maybe a team who doesn't have our experience in the Champions League, but I think they have quality and they have good players.

'We respect all of our opponents and this is a Champions League game - they have made the group stages, so we need to respect them.'

Sitting next to Bompastor during the press conference was Scotland international Erin Cuthbert, who returns to her homeland to face Celtic. And our head coach had nothing but praise for our midfielder.

'She talks about Scotland in a nice way' the Blues head coach said about Cuthbert. 'She's really proud to be a Scottish player. I think it's really nice to have someone in Chelsea who has represented this country as much as Erin has.

'And the way she's playing for Chelsea and the way she's performing in our squad, that is something to be proud of.'
