Sonia Bompastor has continued her impressive start to life in the Women’s Super League by earning a nomination for the September Manager of the Month award.

The 44-year-old, who took charge of Chelsea this summer, has guided the Blues to two wins from two in the WSL, with eight goals scored and none conceded.

Our season opener against Aston Villa at Kingsmeadow proved to be a hard-fought 1-0 win. Swedish winger Johanna Rytting Kaneryd, nominated for the WSL Player of the Month award, scored the only goal in the first half.

A week later, the Blues were on the road to face Crystal Palace and Bompastor's side struck seven goals without reply at Selhurst Park.

Six different players – Aggie Beever-Jones, Lucy Bronze, Lauren James, Guro Reiten, Catarina Macario and Nathalie Bjorn - were on the scoresheet in south London.

The two victories extended our unbeaten run in the WSL to five matches, with the final three games of last season's title-winning campaign included in that run.

Bompastor is one of three managers nominated for the award, alongside Manchester United counterpart Marc Skinner and Tottenham Hotspur’s Robert Vilahamn.

You can vote for Bompastor here! Voting closes at 12pm on Monday 7 October.

Congratulations, Sonia!
