Sonia Bompastor has been named the Women's Super League Manager of the Month for January, winning the prize for the third time this season.
The Blues head coach led her side to two wins and two clean sheets last month. Our first league match following the winter break saw us defeat West Ham United 5-0 at the Chigwell Construction Stadium, before beating Arsenal 1-0 in front of a record-breaking crowd at Stamford Bridge.
Those wins helped the Blues consolidate their place at the top of the WSL table. We currently sit seven points clear of second-placed Manchester United after 13 games played.
The win against the Hammers in January saw Bompastor become the first manager in WSL history to go unbeaten across 11 matches. This now stands at 13 following the victory over Arsenal and last weekend's away defeat of Aston Villa.
With 37 points to boast thanks to 12 wins and one draw, Chelsea have now recorded the best-ever return in the WSL at this stage of a league campaign.
Bompastor, who also the prize in September and November, was nominated for January's award alongside Manchester United's Marc Skinner and Tottenham Hotspur's Robert Vilahamn.
Congratulations, Sonia!
