A squad of 22 Chelsea Women players has travelled to Albania today ahead of our penultimate UEFA Women’s Champions League group stage encounter against Vllaznia on Friday evening.
The Blues touched down in the Albanian capital of Tirana ahead of matchday five, where we will be aiming to secure our passage through to the knockout stage of the competition.
In the reverse fixture against Vllaznia at Kingsmeadow in October, we secured an 8-0 victory where Katerina Svitkova’s first goal in blue accompanied a Pernille Harder hat-trick and four goals from Sam Kerr.
Harder continues her recovery from injury at home and misses the trip to Albania, as does Melanie Leupolz who remains on maternity leave.
