Frank’s back!

Incredibly this is my third Insider article this week and I’m reporting on a third man in charge of the Blues in what has been a hectic few days!

Frank Lampard has returned to Stamford Bridge until the end of the season as caretaker manager, taking over from Bruno Saltor who led the lads out against Liverpool in midweek following the dismissal of Graham Potter last weekend after our home defeat to Aston Villa.

There hasn’t been too much time for me to see how Frank has had the boys working in training, as I’m sure you can appreciate there’s been a lot for him to crack on with and spending time with the Insider hasn’t been at the top of his agenda!

But my tip is that the Blues will be right up for this one. I fancy us to get a few goals and dominate possession, so there’s something for you to think about when predicting this weekend…

Mount’s time?

Could this be the perfect opportunity for Mason Mount to return to the Chelsea side and, hopefully, a return to the scoresheet?

We all know how highly our new caretaker manager rates the England international, having been the one to give Mount his chance at Chelsea in his first spell as well as working with Mount during a very productive loan spell at Derby prior to that.

Goals and assists came with ease to Mason and, although he’s been out of the side in recent weeks, could a fresh voice be just what our Academy graduate needs to finding his golden touch again?

Mason enjoys playing against Wolves and he’s got history against the Midlands side, remember. He’s been directly involved in five goals across his six outings against them in the Premier League (two goals and three assists) and – don’t forget – he also provided two assists in the reverse fixture in October.

Second-half strikes?

A little tip from me, should you want it of course, is to hold your nerve when predicting what minute the first goal could arrive at Molineux.

Why, I hear you ask? Simple – we haven’t conceded a first-half goal against Wolves in any of our last 11 Premier League meetings.

Also, it’s a fixture that has been goalless at half-time in four of the last five clashes. So trust me when I say goals after the break is a strong shout…
