We take a look at the post-match statistics from Saturday’s loss to Bournemouth…

Eight of our 18 shots were blocked by a Cherries player. Five hit the target.

We blocked eight of the visitors’ 11 attempts. Dan Gosling scored with the second of their two on-target efforts, the first having come in just the third minute.

Tammy Abraham registered a game-high four attempts.

We had a 67 per cent share of possession. Between them Kurt Zouma and Toni Rudiger were on the ball for 24.2 per cent of the game.

Unsurprisingly that duo also had the most touches and made the most passes, by some distance. Zouma recorded 97 successful passes and Rudiger 96. Jorginho was third on the list with 56.

When it came to key passes, Cesar Azpilicueta led the way with four.

Of those players who started the game, N’Golo Kante was the most accurate passer, finding a team-mate 91 per cent of the time.

As a team our pass success rate was 83 per cent.

Emerson and Mateo Kovacic were our top dribblers with two successful take-ons each.

Zouma’s nine successful aerial duels, out of the 10 he contested, was a game-high figure.

Jorginho and Diego Rico each won four tackles, with the Italian international also intercepting the ball six times, another joint game-high figure. Philip Billing was the Bournemouth player leading the way in that department.

The visitors recorded 47 clearances, with Chris Mepham leading the way with 14.
