Niamh Charles, Erin Cuthbert and Lauren James have been named in the six-player shortlist for the PFA Women’s Player’s Player of the Year award.

The winners of this year's awards – which recognise achievements from the 2023/24 season – will be announced in a ceremony in Manchester on 20 August.

James, who has also been shortlisted for the PFA’s Young Player of the Year, is in contention to become the first woman to win both honours.

Our No.10’s impressive form saw her finish the campaign as our leading scorer, with 16 goals struck across all competitions.

Thirteen of those came in our title-winning Women’s Super League campaign – and eight were struck at Stamford Bridge.

Meanwhile, Charles and Cuthbert – who both wore the captain’s armband in Millie Bright’s absence last term - make the shortlist following impressive campaigns in Chelsea blue.

Our Scot produced consistent performances in our midfield as we clinched a fifth consecutive WSL title – and she also chipped in with four goals in 20 league appearances.

Charles, meanwhile, was the only Chelsea player to start all 22 games of our triumphant league campaign. She was a reliable presence in our backline and continued to offer a reliable threat from full-back.

Congratulations, Lauren, Niamh and Erin!
