Tosin Adarabioyo acknowledged the Blues were punished for lapses in concentration and a failure to create better chances against Brighton but stressed we will be back stronger when we return to the Amex Stadium on Friday night.
Chelsea enjoyed a great start at the Amex Stadium, as Cole Palmer's cross-shot was fumbled into his own net by Bart Verbruggen after just five minutes.
However, the home side responded by equalising through Georginio Rutter soon after and in the second half, Kaoru Mitoma scored the winner with just over half an hour remaining.
‘We didn’t break them down and create good enough chances to secure the game and we got punished at the other end,' Tosin said.
Just seven minutes separated Chelsea's opening goal and Rutter's equaliser and Tosin was asked about the reason for conceding so soon after.
‘I see it as a lapse of concentration sometimes,' the centre-back said. 'We just need to continue to push on and start the game well like we did today, then push that through for 90 minutes.’
Chelsea will be back at the Amex Stadium on Friday night when we return in the Premier League.
And the 27-year-old says the players are determined to bounce back.
‘Our main focus is now coming back here on Friday,’ Tosin said.
‘We will analyse this game throughout tomorrow and throughout the week, and we will come back stronger on Friday.’
