A day off on Wednesday saw the Chelsea players tour New York City, taking in a number of activities and sights.

Before departing our base in New Jersey on Tuesday - the day after our impressive first win under Sonia Bompastor - the Blues had a final training session at Pingry School and then travelled into New York City later in the day for a WNBA match at Barclays Center.

After watching the warm-ups courtside, the players took to their seats in the suite for an exciting encounter which saw hosts New York Liberty defeat the Dallas Wings 94-74.

Amidst the action on court, our players were beamed up on the jumbotron at half-time before some took to the court in the fourth quarter to help give out some New York Liberty merch to the crowd.

After the match, it was time for a shirt swap.

Lucy Bronze and Lauren James exchanged a Chelsea top for a New York Liberty jersey with players Jonquel Jones and Nyara Sabally while, Blues goalkeeper Hannah Hampton did the same with U.S tennis star and world No.20 Frances Tiafoe who had just watched the match courtside.

Before the rest of the team joined them on court for a squad photo, there was some time to rub shoulders with a Hollywood A-Listers, with Ted Lasso star Jason Sudeikis chatting to our trio.

We then travelled to our hotel in Manhattan where some of the players, Bompastor and assistant Camille Abily had an early start on Wednesday morning ahead of a visit to open the day's trading by ringing the iconic bell at the New York Stock Exchange.

It was then time for Mia Fishel, Hampton and Bronze to take our Women's Super League trophy on a trip to the offices of Barclays - who are our women's tour partner - and the Blues trio also took part in a Q&A.

Upon arrival, the players were surprised by a welcome message on the screens near Times Square!

The squad, minus the three on the Barclays visit, then headed to the Little Words Project in Manhattan for a beading session, having already received personalised jewellery from the company after arriving in the States.

There was an array of gems and jewels to choose from as the players embraced their creative side and made bracelets to suit them and their personalities.

Following a busy morning, it was time to head back to the hotel for some lunch to fuel up for another fun-filled afternoon in NYC.

But before the team went back out for more activities, there was a quick speech from Bompastor and a rendition of 'Happy Birthday' from all the Chelsea travelling party for Lexi Potter, who turned 18 on Saturday, and for Millie Bright who celebrated her 31st birthday on Wednesday.

The squad then split into two groups, with one heading to go bagel making and the other visiting the Metropolitan Museum of Art where they were given a private tour of the gallery and shown key exhibits.

In the evening, a group of players attended the launch event of season 2 of the TV show Like A Girl, a series which celebrates and empowers women's sports. At the event, Chelsea captain Bright took part in a panel.

Others attended the live recording of the Men in Blazers podcast, with the Blues represented by head coach Bompastor, Erin Cuthbert, Aggie Beever-Jones and Fishel on a panel hosted by former US national team star Sam Mewis and MIB founder Roger Bennett.

A busy event-filled day in the city that never sleeps then came to an end as it was time to head back to the hotel. On Thursday, it's time to get back to work - up next, Washington DC!
