Our young Blues suffer back-to-back defeats in the Under-18 Premier League as a tight contest went the way of the away side, despite Tudor Mendel-Idowu's brace.
Our young Blues were back in under-18s Premier League action after a short lay-off as they welcomed the young Seagulls to Cobham.
Hassan Sulaiman looked to start his first official game as Under-18s Head Coach with a win.
We started the game in style as a well-weighted ball from Zain Silcott-Duberry found Mendel-Idowu whose sublime touch put him through on goal and he delivered with a fine finish beyond the goalkeeper. The perfect beginning to the game.
We were comfortable but a loss of concentration in the backline gave Josh Duffus an opening and he levelled the scores with a low shot which caught out Ted Curd.
Ten minutes later, we were ahead and it was Mendel-Idowu who grabbed his second of the game. A good cross from captain Ronnie Stutter found the attacker in the box and Mendel-Idowu headed in from close range.
We looked to extend our lead and Mendel-Idowu almost found himself with a first-half hat-trick as his chipped effort to catch out goalkeeper Tommy Reid was saved well by the young goalkeeper.
The away side levelled the scores 10 minutes into the second period and it was Remeiro Moulton who finished well as he latched onto a pass from Harry Mills.
Moulton sealed the win for the young Seagulls as we suffered back-to-back defeats in the league.
In a tightly fought contest, it was Brighton who managed to secure all three points.
