Hassan Sulaiman’s boys conceded a last-minute winner as Spurs leave with three points at Cobham this morning.
It was an end-to-end clash at Cobham this morning at Cobham, following a similar tempo to last week's game against the same opposition.
Both sides had periods of dominance throughout another pulsating clash between the two sides, which either team could have won in truth.
We seemed in control as 20 minutes from time Tyrique George made the scores 3-2 but two goals in the final 10 minutes of the game for Tottenham resigned us to defeat.
End-to-end London derby
After last weekend’s win, our young Blues were looking to repeat that trick over Tottenham and take top spot this morning at Cobham.
The game began in similar fashion to last week as our young Blues were penned into our own half, with Spurs controlling much of the possession.
The first chance came 20 minutes into the game as Yusuf Akhamrich, who was on the scoresheet last week, managed to find some space to force Luke Campbell into a good save.
We opened the scoring though soon after, with our first sight of goal as Somto Boniface - who has a knack of getting himself into attacking areas - hammered into the net off the post after a lovely team move which involved Kaiden Wilson and George.
We gave ourselves room for comfort, as the lead was doubled four minutes later through McNeilly. The striker, who featured for the Under-21s yesterday, looked fresh and he was on hand to fire past the goalkeeper, following a through ball from Harrison McMahon.
We were seemingly cruising but just before the half-time whistle, Mikey Moore produced a moment of brilliance for the away side, striking from distance to beat Campbell.
We sought breathing room as we started the second period with increased intensity and McNeilly went close, hitting the post with a shot from inside the box.
Despite our pressure, it was Spurs who scored next and levelled the scoring on the hour mark as Moore was involved again, putting the ball on a plate for Oliver Irow to finish.
George was next to try his luck, jinking his way past a number of challenges, but he could not find the finish needed with Carey Bloedorn well placed to stop his effort.
It was Spurs who were in the ascendancy now and Damola Ajayi fired off the woodwork moment later.
In similar breath to the Tottenham equaliser, we managed to seize on a loose pass after being put under pressure. George fired into the top corner from distance to restore our lead, a fantastic strike from the winger.
Six minutes from time though the away side were level, and it came through Leo Black who smashed the ball into the roof of the net from close range.
And the scoring wasn't done there, as Spurs struck again to walk away with the three points as Ajayi turned the ball home from a corner for a dramatic winner.
The loss means that Tottenham go three points clear at the top with our young Blues suffering a second league defeat of the season.
