Six strikes make up our shortlist for the first Goal of the Month of the 23/24 season and now it’s time for you to pick your favourite.
August saw the Blues begin our Premier League and Carabao Cup campaigns, with games against Liverpool, West Ham, Luton and Wimbledon providing two wins, a draw and an away loss.
Carney Chukwuemeka opened his senior account, whilst the reliable Raheem Sterling was back to his best with an incredible double against Luton.
The month also saw the return of Academy football, with the Chelsea U21 side providing a glut of goals against Blackburn to kick off the PL2 season in style.
You can vote for your pick of the bunch in the poll below, with the winning strike to be announced soon, while you can watch back all six goals in the video above.
Here’s a reminder of how our six shortlisted goals were scored:
Carney Chukwuemeka vs West Ham
Chukwuemeka’s first Chelsea goal brought us back on level terms against West Ham. Whilst it wasn’t enough to seal the three points on the day, it was a memorable way to open his account, with a curling shot into the bottom corner.
Raheem Sterling (1) vs Luton
It might only be August, but Raheem Sterling’s first against Luton is sure to see a nomination for Goal of the Season come the end of the year. The winger jinked in from the right, left three Luton defenders in his wake before arrowing a shot into the bottom corner.
Raheem Sterling (2) vs Luton
Not content with only scoring one, Sterling’s second against Luton was an equally adept finish, finding the bottom corner after a cross from Malo Gusto.
Nicolas Jackson vs Luton
Jackson’s first Chelsea goal put the icing on the cake to seal our 3-0 win against Luton, with some smart build-up play capped off with a delightful low cross from Sterling into the six-yard box, allowing Jackson to pounce from close range.
Leo Castledine vs Blackburn U21
Castledine’s pinpoint free-kick from the edge of the box made it 2-0 for the Blues en route to a resounding 6-1 win.
Zak Sturge vs Blackburn U21
A rocket from the left boot of Zak Sturge made it six against Blackburn as the Blues began the PL2 campaign in dominating fashion.
