Enzo Maresca’s Blues started the month just gone in flying form, winning six straight games across both the Premier League and the Conference League, including impressive victories against Tottenham and Aston Villa while also hitting Southampton and Shamrock Rovers for five.

Our women’s side recorded a fine away victory at Real Madrid in the Champions League, which came on the back of a resounding home wins over Twente and Brighton across both European and domestic competitions.

Meanwhile our Development squad won both fixtures in December, while our U18 side successfully progressed to the next round of the FA Youth Cup with victory over Leicester.

Enzo Fernandez vs Aston Villa (H)

A stunning strike from our World Cup-winning midfielder helped us to victory over Villa at Stamford Bridge. Collecting the ball on the edge of the box, Enzo takes a touch before slamming the ball into the bottom corner.

Cole Palmer vs Aston Villa (H)

From the same game comes our second nomination and the first Palmer entry on this month’s shortlist. Cole picks up the ball off Madueke before setting himself and bending a superb curling effort into the top corner from the edge of the area.

Jadon Sancho vs Spurs (A)

Driving in from the left flank against Spurs, Sancho carries the ball before unleashing an unstoppable right-footed strike that finds the far corner.

Palmer vs Spurs (A)

The second Palmer entry is a cheeky finish! Remaining cool from the penalty spot, Palmer delicately chips the ball over the goalkeeper and into the net.

Cat Macario vs FC Twente (H)

Our first entry from the Women’s team comes from Cat Macario, who stayed calm in a crowded box before lashing the ball past the Twente goalkeeper at Stamford Bridge.

Mayra Ramirez vs FC Twente (H)

In the same game, Mayra Ramirez found the net with a stunning strike from distance. Catching the goalkeeper off her line, Mayra instinctively hits the ball over the stopper and into the unguarded net.

Marc Cucurella vs Shamrock Rovers (H)

Cucurella’s fine right-footed finish in our Conference League victory is our next nomination, with the defender latching onto Christopher Nkunku’s pass before cutting inside and finding the bottom corner.

Kiano Dyer vs Bournemouth U21 (H)

An absoluter stunner from Dyer in our PL Cup victory over Bournemouth deservedly takes its place in our December shortlist. The midfielder lets fly from 30 yards out and watches on gleefully as the ball arrows into the top corner.

Palmer vs Fulham (H)

Wrapping up the shortlist is a third and final Cole Palmer entry. Receiving the ball from Levi Colwill 35 yards from goal, our No.20 then slalomed his way through several Fulham defenders before passing into the corner to open the scoring on Boxing Day.
