Mason Mount vs West Ham United
The midfielder fired us into the lead just before half-time at the London Stadium with a display of perfect technique. As Hakim Ziyech's fading crossfield pass dropped in the box, Mount watched it all the way and met it with perfect timing to steer a volley past Lukasz Fabianski low at the near post.
Sam Kerr (second goal) vs Arsenal
Our Australian forward had already netted once at Wembley in the Women's FA Cup final as we led the Gunners by two goals, but then added the icing on the cake in some style to make it 3-0. When Jessie Fleming won the ball in midfield and played it out to Kerr on the right there did not seem to be too much danger for the Arsenal defence, but then she charged into the box before lifting a beatifully weighted chip over the goalkeeper.
Romelu Lukaku vs Aston Villa
Lukaku came off the bench at half-time and took just 11 minutes to get his name on the scoresheet, netting in the Premier League for the first time since a brace against the same opponents in September. It was a goal that showed all his centre-forward nous, as his movement allowed the Belgian get across the front of Villa captain Tyrone Mings and guide Callum Hudson-Odoi's cross into the bottom corner with his head.
Jude Soonsup-Bell vs Derby County
It didn't take the 17-year-old striker long to open the scoring at Derby, as he fired in his first Premier League 2 goal of the season in our first attack of the game. When he was found by Lewis Hall's long pass to the left, Soonsup-Bell was on his own against three defenders, but cut inside onto his right foot and arrowed a dipping shot into the top corner.
Mason Mount vs Leeds United
Our first-half equaliser in this dramatic win owed much to Marcos Alonso, who dispossessed Stuart Dallas high up the pitch and exchanged passes with Timo Werner before sliding a low cross towards the penalty spot. It was a smart finish from Mount, though, as he deftly slid the ball inside the near post with his left foot.
Timo Werner vs Zenit St Petersburg
The German already had a goal and an assist to his name when he found the net again for our third of the day. Christian Pulisic and Ziyech combined for a lovely one-two on the edge of the box before feeding Werner inside the area, who cleverly stood up his man before darting inside and firing a low shot past the goalkeeper.
Silko Thomas vs Leyton Orient
We got our FA Youth Cup campaign off to a flying start with a 4-1 home win and Thomas provided the pick of the goals at Kingsmeadow. When he received the ball in a central position, the Leyton Orient defenders backed off and he accepted their invitation, hitting a powerful left-footed strike into the top corner from just inside the box.
