Chelsea Academy midfielder Landon Emenalo has been named in a senior squad for the first time ahead of our UEFA Conference League quarter-final second leg against Legia Warsaw. Learn more about the talented teenager here.

Building on his impressive performances at both Under-18 and Under-21 level, Emenalo has been training alongside the Blues men's team ahead of our home second-leg tie against the Polish side, and tonight it was confirmed he had earned his first call-up to Enzo Maresca’s squad.

Emenalo became a regular in Chelsea’s Under-18s after signing his scholarship in July 2023. Born on January 18 2008, he signed his first professional contract shortly after turning 17 earlier this year.

What position does Landon Emenalo play?

A creative and confident player on the ball, Emenalo has regularly played as a midfielder across both Academy sides. He has also adapted to a centre-back role for the Under-21s under Filipe Coelho, demonstrating his versatility and strong defensive attributes.

How long has Landon Emenalo been at Chelsea?

Emenalo first joined Chelsea’s Under-8 programme and spent two seasons at the club before moving to AS Monaco, the club his father Michael Emenalo had joined after working for the Blues for several years.

Landon then returned at Under-13 level and has continued to progress through the ranks at Cobham ever since.

What is Landon Emenalo's record for our Academy teams this season?

Emenalo has made 31 appearances for Hassan Sulaiman’s Under-18s this season, including three in the FA Youth Cup, and scored his first goal of the campaign against Leicester City in the Under-18 Premier League.

He has also featured 11 times for the Under-21s across various competitions, including Premier League 2 and the Premier League Cup.
