Wieke Kaptein's stunning equaliser against Leicester City has been nominated for the Women's Super League Goal of the Month award for December.

With the Blues trailing 1-0 to the Foxes, the Dutch midfielder showed a moment of sheer individual brilliance late on at the King Power Stadium when she pulled us level with a strike from 25 yards out.

Her goal ensured a point for Sonia Bompastor's side and extended our unbeaten run in the league this season to 10 games. It also helped us move six points clear at the top of the table going into the winter break.

And our head coach praised the youngster's crucial goal, as she said: 'If you analyse the goal from Wieke, she decided to go one-v-one and create space. She shot on goal and was able to score. That's talent.'

Kaptein has enjoyed an impressive start to life at Chelsea. She spent last season on loan at FC Twente in her homeland, before returning to London this term and has made 13 appearances across all competitions, scoring on three occasions.

Voting is now open and will close at 11am on Monday 27 December. You can cast your vote for Wieke here!

The 19-year-old is nominated for December's WSL award alongside Jelena Cankovic (Brighton & Hove Albion), Anouk Denton (West Ham), Mary Fowler (Manchester City), Leah Galton (Manchester United), Sara Holmgaard (Everton), Marisa Olislagers (Brighton & Hove Albion), and Alessia Russo (Arsenal).

Well done, Wieke!
