Chelsea may face a huge Champions League semi-final second leg on Sunday but Sonia Bompastor has reiterated that Crystal Palace and the Women's Super League title are the only things on her mind heading into tomorrow night's game.

A win at Kingsmeadow on Wednesday evening would see us go six points clear of Arsenal at the top of the WSL table with three games remaining and just nine points up for grabs.

Chelsea come into the contest off the back of a disappointing 4-1 defeat to Barcelona in the Women's Champions League semi-final first leg, but there is no time to dwell on that loss as we continue to compete for multiple trophies this season.

'Tomorrow is a different competition,' explained the boss. 'Back to the league and we are top of the table. I've said we are ambitious and we want to go top of the table with six points ahead of Arsenal. If we win and we get three more points, we'll get closer to the title. I think it's enough motivation for all of us to be ready to compete in the game tomorrow.

'I just told my players this morning, now we need to look at the future. The only thing we can control now is the future. I think we need to show a reaction in the league game tomorrow against Palace. I think that's the main thing and the most important thing.

'It's an important game tomorrow, with three important points, and we need to focus on that.'

The defeat against Barcelona was only our second under Sonia Bompastor since she joined the club at the beginning of this season.

Yet from adversity comes a chance to set things straight, and for this reason the coach is looking forward to a chance to get the side back out on the pitch on Wednesday night.

'I think this team is not used to losing games,' Bompastor explained. 'I think what maybe hurts the most is conceding four goals. It's not usual for us, but now we have a situation where we need to show a reaction and bounce back.

'That's part of football. It's really painful, but you need to show the reaction. The good thing is we have a game tomorrow, so it's a quick turnaround and this match is the opportunity for us to think ahead, look at the future and be positive.

'It's always tough to lose, especially when you are Chelsea, because it's not something you experience a lot, but it's part of the process. Sometimes you need to recognise, as was the case on Sunday, we were not good enough to perform better and to get a better result.

'After that, it's being able to analyse that and taking the facts and going into the next games with positivity, confidence, and trust. We are still fighting for three other competitions, and that's fact. At the moment, we are quite positive because we know we are already doing well. We want to do better and we want to win even more trophies. We are in a situation to do that.

'We are in the decisive moment of the season where you need to show how good you can be and how much you can win.'

Crystal Palace have won just two games all season, and sit bottom of the league with nine points from 18 matches so far.

After a 7-0 win in the reverse WSL fixture back in September, we only won by a solitary goal when we faced the Eagles in the FA Cup quarter-final in March. For this reason, Bompastor knows victory won't be a straightforward task.

She said: 'We created many opportunities, but we were not able to score more goals. I think they are a team who are really well-organised defensively and they are waiting to transition on us with some quick players up front.

'So this is what we expect from the game tomorrow. It's always difficult when you play a low block, you need to make the difference. You need to be clinical enough to score and don't give any hope to the other team.

'And if they have the opportunity to transition, they will be good enough to do that. So we need to be strong enough out of possession not to concede any goals.'
