Chelsea have completed the signing of teenage forward Omari Hutchinson from Arsenal.
The 18-year-old was a key figure for the Gunners side which finished third in Premier League 2 last season.
A skilful player with the ability to open up defences, he featured predominantly as a central attacking midfielder or on the right wing during his time in north London, but can also play across the front three.
Hutchinson was named among the substitutes for Mikel Arteta’s senior team on a number of occasions in the 2021/22 campaign, including their Carabao Cup semi-final defeat to Liverpool, and most recently when Arsenal visited Stamford Bridge in the Premier League in late April.
Born in Surrey, the playmaker has represented England at youth level, but made his senior international debut for Jamaica in a friendly against Catalonia in May of this year.
Head of youth recruitment Jim Fraser said: ‘We are delighted that Omari has agreed to sign for Chelsea. He is a brilliant addition who joins us as an exciting emerging talent hoping to make a quick impression in the senior game.’
