Hakim Ziyech has indicated he has retired from international football.
Speaking to the media in Abu Dhabi where he is with the Chelsea squad at the FIFA Club World Cup, the 28-year-old was asked when he will next play for Morocco.‘I will not be returning to the national team. It is my final decision,’ he responded, acknowledging there will be disappointment in Morocco at the news. ‘It is all clear to me how things are going over there and I am focusing on what I am doing and that right now is my club.’Ziyech last played for his national side in June last year when he earned his 40th cap.Meanwhile, Chelsea coach Zsolt Low, speaking at our pre-match press conference ahead the semi-final, was asked about Ziyech’s form with Chelsea.‘We are very happy right now with Hakim Ziyech, he is getting better and better and better, every training session and every game,’ Low said. ‘He is a very important player for us and he is in good shape and good form and that is why he is a possibility to start the game.’
